July 7th Regular and Study City Council Meeting

Here is a summary of the July 7, 2025 Regular + Study Meeting of Livonia City Council.

The following items were approved:

Meeting Minutes & Consent Agenda
Waver use to expand the existing fuel facility at Costco located at 19540 Haggerty Road
Site Plan to constructing a second story at 29440 Schoolcraft Road
Notice of intent to issue a 5 Million dollar bond to redevelop Sheldon Park
Request for the law department to draft an ordinance on racing pigeons
Purchase payment agreement with CP Pay Merchants to allow for credit/debit and ACH transactions
Release of development bonds for Hines Park Site Condominium
Release of development bonds for Lyndon Park Site Condominium
Additional expenditure 2024 Westfield Avenue and Harrison Road Water Main Replacement

The following ordinances were given first read and will be voted on next meeting for adoption

Amending the malicious use of a telephone ordinance
Creation of misdemeanor for possessing vape product on school grounds
Addition of a local ordinance prohibiting a person from interfering with another during an emergency call

The following items were put on the consent agenda:

Various block party requests
Approval to expand a veterinary hospital at 27492 Five Mile Road
Approval to lease a 18 seat passenger van for senior center transportation
Approval to remediate the interior of the Alexander Blue House
Approving various other purchase requests
An approving council resolution to name the new senior center the Livonia Senior Wellness Center
Award of contract for sewer line chemical root control services
Award of contract for general electrical maintenance
Extension of contract for catch basin, storm sewer, and concrete slab stabilization
Increase the tree trimming contract
Approving the storm water facilities maintenance agreement for the Lyndon Park Site Condominium site development

The following items were put on the next regular agenda

Various block party requests
Site plan approval to construct a 4,164-square-foot warehouse garage at 29441 Six Mile Road
A notice of intent to issue $5,000,000 to improve Sheldon Park
Restricting the number of racing pigeons in per residential parcel to 20.
