Planning Commission – May 9, 2023

Vote.Run.Serve-Livonia does not usually cover Livonia’s Planning Commission meetings. Due to significant interest on the proposed agenda items, VRS will be summarizing the items before the commission.

🏠FGN Holdings is seeking to rezone the approximate acre currently located properties at 19380 and 19384 Newburgh Road for residential use. Petitioners are looking to build an unfinalized number of ~1400 square foot homes in the area.

Planning Commission unanimously tabled the request until the petitioners completed the purchase.

👣Yo-Yo Spa petitioned to open a message parlor at 33316 Plymouth Road. They currently operate Elite Foot Spa on Plymouth Road. A waver petition is required due to the proposed locations proximity to a day care.

Planning Commission denied this request 4-2.

🎡Wade Carnivals petitioned to conduct the annual Rotary AM carnival from July 13, 2023 through July 23, 2023 at 29500 Seven Mile Road.

Planning Commission unanimously approved the request.

Basilica of St. Marys tabled their petition to rezone 18100 Merriman Road and adjacent properties to accommodate residential multi-family housing. A new hearing will be held July 25, 2023.

🍨🍦Haidous Brothers Livonia L.L.C., petitioned to redevelop the old Steak N Shake at 17200 Middlebelt to a Dairy Queen. A rendering is pictured below.

Planning Commission unanimously adopted this request.
