♻️ Recycling– For many, spring cleaning means an opportunity to clean out closets, pantries, or retire old. Please consider donating shoes to Livonia Kiwanis – Early Risers, as they fundraise for their annual Livonia Scholarship program. 😎 Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair – on April 23, Greenleaf Commission on Sustainability – Livonia, Michigan will be hosting a FREE sustainability fair at Madonna University. If you had questions on solar energy, electric vehicles, composting, rain barrels, or wanted to connect with likeminded Livonia residents, this is the event for you. 🌳 Arbor Day – Did you know Livonia has been recognized as a Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation? The Tree City Committee will be celebrating Arbor Day at Coolidge Elementary at 2:30.

🌱 Livonia Seed Library Grand Opening – Livonia Public Library will be cutting the proverbial ribbon on their Seed Library on 4/30. Attendees can enter in a rare seed raffle, connect with fellow backyard gardeners, and learn more about the program. Patrons can ‘check out’ up to five seeds.

💦 Rain Garden classes – Planning spring landscaping projects? Interested in learning more about the benefit of rain gardens? Check out Friends of The Rouge free training here: https://therouge.org/rouge-education-project/

☔️ Bonus: April can be an awesome opportunity to see firsthand how rain gardens can be integrated into surface lots to prevent flooding on connecting streets.
