General Meeting

The consent agenda was approved.

A public hearing on the 2022/2023 Budget will be held on Wednesday, October 6th.

Following a public comment on tree removal related to road repair, the issue was referred to the Committee of the Whole.

The proposed amendment to the Livonia Code of Ordinances, Chapter 13.04 Section 030 (Using Water From Fire Hydrants – Permit, Cash Deposit and Other Conditions) to increase the meter deposit from $100.00 to $800.00 was approved and will be in place once it’s published in the paper.

HERO Pay was approved unanimously; however, there was significant discussion on this issue and it’s worth watching this portion of the meeting.

Expenditure requests from the Engineering Department were approved

The Study Meeting session previews what you can expect to hear more about in future Regular Meetings.

Accepted for the consent agenda:

  • Block Party

Housing developer Leo Soave is proposing a new 19 condominium style single-family home development on the south side of Plymouth Road between Newburgh Road and Jarvis Avenue. These 1,300 and 1,500 sq ft homes will be on smaller lots and cost between $250k and $300k. The design is intended to attract empty nesters looking to downside or young professionals. This will be discussed further at the next City Council meeting because it can not be put on the consent agenda.
