Regular Meeting –

Multiple motions were made by Councilmembers:

▪️Requests and Recommendations from Law: Creating a minimum distance of gas and oil businesses in proximity to bodies of water; specifics for 100ft distance from public lands related to variances

▪️Economic Development Committee: Study the impact and best practices of data centers to update zoning ordinances; limiting the number of gas/car related businesses in the city

▪️Law and Education Committee: Study of charter improvements; subject of residential property maintenance enforcement

▪️Capital Outlay Committee: Subject matter of a new police station

The following items were approved:

▪️Minutes and consent agenda

▪️Committee assignments finalized and assignments of various Boards and the Parliamentarian was approved

▪️Waiver petition for CAVA at Haggerty and 7 Mile

▪️Waiver petition for S.D.M license for Outback at Schoolcraft and Middlebelt

▪️Waiver petition for Nova Loft event center at Joy and Harrison

▪️Extending the tree trimming contract with Boon Development (maintained pricing levels)

▪️Waived formal bidding for approved vendors for equipment maintenance

▪️A 12-month moratorium on approving new car washes

The subject matter of using Zoom for public meetings was recommended for the Committee of the Whole.

The following items were put on consent:

▪️Renewing Microsoft contract for 3 years

▪️General Contractor Bid for Shelden Park improvement plan

▪️Dates for placing special assessment on properties that have no paid charges related to 2025 sidewalk program

The following items were put on the regular with approving motions

▪️Waiver for purchasing furniture for Senior Center (amount amended to remove trash and recycling can purchase requests)

▪️Waive formal bidding for asphalt road program and extend contract and pricing with Nagle Paving Company

▪️Final cost information for 2025 Sidewalk program

▪️Waive 2026 bidding process for 2026 sidewalk program to maintain prices with Rotundo Construction
