On Monday, September 29th City Council held a public meeting on three agenda items. Below is an overview:
This was two separate items to cover three areas related to the Plymouth Road Development Authoirty (PRDA):
- Redraw the boundaries of the authority to remove some new residential area and include newly developed industrial area
- Reset the TIFF. The taxable valuable set previously dropped following the Great Recession and would unlikely ever return to a capture value. This does not change the taxes for the businesses in the area but resets the amount the PRDA can capture (sets a ceiling for that the city would capture to be this year’s rate).
- Redefine the scope of the PRDA to include Shelden Park, Noble and the current Housing Commission
25/26 Budget: A few updates were made by the administration for the budget following the prior meeting (you can find the information from that meeting here: https://voterunservelivonia.com/…/september-18th-2025…)
- No positions are eliminated
- CDBG funds for Hillcrest Park
- Increase the refuse mileage to offset the deficit. The City has been leveraging less than is allowed by voter approval and state requirement, this does not require ballot action.
Motions and votes will be taken on all three items at the City Council’s regular meeting.
