There’s lots to do in Livonia! Here are events happening in September.
Wilson Barn’s Farmer Market – Saturdays in September
- Shop local from 9am to 2pm.
Livonia Park Run – Bicentennial Park on Saturdays
- A free, timed 5K run/walk/jog in Bicentennial Park on 7 Mile Road every Saturday. We start at 8 a.m. during September, then will move to 9 a.m. in October, we run all winter long, and through May at 9 a.m., then back to 8 a.m. in June. We are a fun, friendly, community event and attract about 100 people each Saturday. Everyone is invited and will be made to feel welcome. Slow or fast, young or old there is something for everyone, and those interested can volunteer as well.
Livonia Public Library’s One City, One Book – Multiple Events: The Library is hosting a series of public events that are open to all ages around the selected book The All American by Susie Finkbeiner.
- Livonia’s oldest neighborhood from Dick McLain on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at 7pm
- Vinyl Record Art (teens): Paint or decorate a vinyl record during this 1950s-themed craft program. Thursday, Sept. 11th at 6:30pm
- Historic cemeteries from Kathy Bilger on Monday, Sept.15th at 7pm
- Wilson Barn from Karen Amick on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd at 7pm
- Meet the author, Susie Finkbeiner on Wednesday, Sept. 24th at 6:30pm.
- Growing Up In the 1950s (grades 2nd – 5th): Saturday, Sept. 27th at 11am
- The All American community book discussion on Monday, Oct. 13th at 7pm.
- Yahtzee Game Night: Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 6:30pm
- History of Livonia from Bill Joyner on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 7pm
Open Mic Night @ Trinity House Theatre – Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, 16th, & 30th: Take a chance to share your music live on the Trinity House Theatre stage. Local songwriter, Bob Knox, will serve as the host of the evening. Tickets are only $5 and you can enjoy free beverages and snacks.
Game Night at Wilson’s Barn – Thursday, Sept. 11th & 25th: Open to all ages and FREE from 6:30pm to 9pm
Comedy Night @ SuperNatural Brewing & Spirits – Thursday, Sept. 4th & 18th: Stand-up comedy show at 7:30pm to 9pm, tickets are $10

Tour de Livonia – Sunday, Sept. 7th: Whether you’re up for a scenic 18-mile challenge or a relaxed 7-mile cruise, Tour de Livonia is the perfect way to kick off fall with purpose and fun.
Annual Livonia Corn Roast – Sunday, Sept. 7th: The FREE good old-fashioned neighborhood Corn Roast returns 11:30a-3pm at Bicentennial Park following the Tour de Livonia. Join friends and family for food, fun, entertainment and check out the dozens of Livonia community groups on site.
Greenmead Fall Flea Market – Sunday, Sept. 7th: Bring your wagon or cart to shop from more than 161 vendors offering a wide variety of items for sale. No dogs permitted at the event. $3 adult admission paid at the gate; free for ages 12 and younger.
Empty Chair Night with Dan Cafferty and Steve Doughery @ Trinity House Theatre – Sunday, Sept. 7th: The Empty Chair Night offers members of the audience a chance to join the hosts and featured act on stage to share a song “in-the-round” style. 7pm to 9:30pm, $12 tickets
The Human Spotify featuring John Rush @ Schoolcraft College – Thursday, Sept. 11th: People can pick songs they want John to play, write them down on little post-it notes, and then stick them all over the stage. It’s a fun and interactive show from 11am to 2pm at the VistaTech Center
Charity Car Show & Chili Cook-Off @ St. Priscilla – Saturday, Sept. 13th: Car Show from 8am to 2pm
E-Waste Recycling Day @ Schoolcraft College – Saturday, Sept. 13th: The event is free and open to the public, though attendees are encouraged to bring a canned or non-perishable food item to benefit the Schoolcraft College Food Pantry drive to help feed students in need. North parking lot near Health Sciences Building from 9am to 3pm
Stuff-A-Pet: National Cheeseburger Day – Saturday, Sept. 13th: Celebrate National Cheeseburger Day by joining us a few days prior for this burger-themed event. We’ll be celebrating 10:30 a.m. to noon. Admission is $25 per child
Clarenceville Education Foundation Golf Outing – Saturday, Sept. 13th: Get ready to tee off at our 8th Annual Golf Outing! Join us for a day of fun and friendly competition on the greens of Whispering Willows Golf Course, as we raise funds for the students and teachers of Clarenceville School District.
Triana @ Trinity House Theatre – Saturday, Sept. 13th: Triana is the dynamic collaboration of three powerhouse singer-songwriters—GlenBrooke, Julianne Ankley, and Michelle Chenard—blending their unique artistry, award-winning songwriting, and captivating performances into an unforgettable musical experience. 7:30pm performance, tickets $20
Livonia Youth Choir Fall Auditions – Monday, Sept. 15th: Interested in joining the Livonia Youth Choir? Auditions open to children in grades 2 through 8. There’s no need to prepare anything – auditions are simply to understand your child’s vocal skills so they can be placed in the right choir.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) – Tuesday, Sept. 16th: Livonia offers USDA foods at no cost to low-income residents on the third Tuesday of every month from 12 -2 p.m. No sign-up is required. Livonia Housing Commission: 10800 Farmington Road
Farm to Fork: Taste the Change @ Greenmead Historical Park – Tuesday, Sept. 16th: In these one-hour session, Registered dietitian and chef Mary Balog will break down multiple topics regarding food and food culture. These sessions are free, and you don’t need to attend all to attend one, but preregistration is required for each session
History Lecture Series- Growing Together: Madonna University and Livonia – Wednesday, Sept. 17th: Established in 1937, Madonna University, sponsored by the Felician Sisters, and the city of Livonia have continued to respond to challenges and opportunities that shaped their growth and progress. Noting contributions of leaders of both the university and the city, Sr. Nancy Marie Jamroz will show that it takes a community to make a vision become a reality for the benefit of that community.
Livonia-Westland Chamber City Council Candidate Forum – Wednesday, Sept. 17th: The Livonia City Council candidates on the November ballot were invited to appear at the Livonia-Westland Chamber of Commerce candidate forum at the Livonia City Hall auditorium. Begins at 7pm
Songwriters Anonymous Showcase @ Trinity House Theatre – Friday, Sept. 19th: “Songwriters Anonymous is an active community of songwriters who meet monthly in SE Michigan and who share their mutual interests through the development of musical skills and industry knowledge. In addition to providing networking and performance opportunities for its members, Song Anon is committed to promoting collaboration and encouraging all levels of ability by fostering an inclusive, friendly and nurturing environment.” 7:30pm performance, tickets $20
South for Winter w/ Anthony Retkae @ Trinity House Theatre – Saturday, Sept. 20th: New Zealand-formed and Nashville-based South for Winter’s sound is as eclectic as their origins. 7:30pm performance, tickets $20
Coffee Hour with Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski: Let’s Talk Livonia – Saturday, Sept. 20th: Come, ask questions and learn about what’s happening with City Council. In addition to a regular city update. Coffee Hours are open to the public – kids are welcome. There will be light refreshments, and we are meeting in the Livonia Civic Center Library at 11am.
Monarch Butterfly Tag and Release @ George’s Garden – Saturday, Sept. 20th: Hand feed Monarch Butterflies and release your own at this special fun and educational event! Ticket cost: $18.99 (plus taxes and online ticketing fees)
Bee-Day Party @ Greenmead – Saturday, Sept. 20th What’s the buzz around bees? Join us at the Alexander Blue House as we learn about the fascinating world of honeybees from Greenmead’s very own beekeepers. This program will include a 1-hour presentation, a GLUTEN FREE lunch, and dessert. Advance registration is required. $40 tickets
Wilson Barn Chess Tournament – Sunday, Sept. 21st: Starts at 10am and has a $10 entry fee. The tournament is a USCF rated, 4 round Swiss with two sections (open, u1200) and trophies for 1st-3rd for open, u1200, and u800 sections.
Relay for Hope @ Mies Park – Sunday, Sept. 21st: The Relay for Hope is in partnership with Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church – a church community that wishes to ensure no one fights cancer alone. We will be walking around Mies Park in honor or memory of loved ones and their cancer battles. There will be games, prizes, a food truck and good fellowship starting at 12pm
Greenmead Historical Park Village Tours – Sunday, Sept. 21st: Take a tour of the Greenmead Historic Village buildings in self-paced tours are from 1pm to 4pm. Begin at Delia’s Treasures Gift Shop (located by the stop sign) for your admission pass. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 5 to 17
RealJoy Yoga FREE Open House – Sunday, Sept. 21st: Register for free yoga classes being offered at 8:45am, 10am and 11:30am
Livonia Cider Mill – Sunday, Sept. 21st Life Church Livonia is hosting it’s annual pop-up cider mill with donuts food, games, bounce houses, music and more, starting at 12:15pm.
Livonia Women’s Connection @ Garfield Community School – Thursday, September 25th: Our fall event is hosted by Livonia Public Schools at their new Greenhouse at Garfield Community School. Come relax and connect with old friends and new from 6pm to 8pm. Address: 310218 Arthur. This is a FREE event and no registration is required
Dueling Pianos @ St. Michael’s – Friday, September 26th: Get ready to sing, laugh, and party the night away. Dueling Pianos 2025 is coming your way on Friday, September 26 and it’s going to be EPIC!
Bill Edwards and Maddy Ringo @ Trinity House Theatre – Friday, Sept. 26th: Bill Edwards is both a master of the songwriting craft and a seasoned and compelling performer. 7:30pm performance, tickets $20
Fire Prevention Open House – Saturday, September 27th: Join Livonia Fire & Rescue for a day of safety, learning, and family fun! Enjoy demonstrations, kids’ activities, safety tips, and a chance to meet Freddy the Fire Truck and Sparky the Dog. 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Fire Station #3, 35000 Seven Mile Road.
The American Civil War Experience – September 27th & 28th: Saturday 10 AM-6 PM, Sunday 10 AM- 4 PM. Military camp life, drills, firing demonstrations, field surgical practices & medicine, civilian life, period fashion display, poetry reading, and much more. Cannon bounty available for pre-approved cannons. Continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday (bagels or donuts, coffee, and tea).
Mark Kesson @ Trinity House Theatre – Saturday, Sept. 27th: New Local musician Mark Kesson returns to Trinity House with a semi-unplugged performance of his 2024 album It’s Been Something. 7:30pm performance, tickets $20
St Baldrick’s Main Event – Sunday, Sept. 28th On Sept 28th from 12-5pm St. Baldrick’s will take over Knights of Columbus for the 15th annal fundraiser to fight children’s cancer.
