Livonia’s primary election was held on Tuesday, August 5th. The Bond proposal was rejected (No 18,140 to Yes 9,028) and the following candidates move forward to the Tuesday, November 4th election where 4 will earn seats on City Council. Find the official results on the City website here

The top vote getter in November will become Council President with a 4-year term, the second place vote getter will be Vice President with a 4-year term, the third top vote getter will receive a 4-year term and the 4th top vote getter will serve a 2-year term.
There were 19 names on the ballot on August 5th; although 2 suspended their campaign after the filing deadline and still appeared on the ballot.
Livonia had 74,492 registered voters for this election and 27,572 of those registered voters voted (37%). The last primary election in Livonia was 2019 with 12 candidates on the ballot and 20% voter turnout. The last general city council election Livonia had was in 2023. In 2023, 30% of registered voters voted in the city wide election.
