- Paws, Pours & More: A Benefit for Last Day Dog Rescue @ Wilson Barn from 4pm to 8pm. This family-friendly event features adoptable dogs and cats, performances, games, raffle prizes and food from local vendors. Adults 21 and older can also purchase tickets for an indoor alcohol tasting fundraiser, which includes eight samples from area breweries and distilleries. Tickets are $35 at the door

- Cops & Cones with the Livonia Police Department @ Han-D-Dip Dairy Barn from 5pm to 7pm. Bring the whole family for an evening of free ice cream, lawn games, and the chance to connect with your Livonia officers in a relaxed, friendly setting. Say hello, play a game, and enjoy a sweet treat with the dedicated men and women who serve our community.
Thursday, August 7th
- Teen Volunteer Council Meeting @ Sandburg Library at 5pm. The goal of the TVC is to help members take an active role in creating a welcoming environment for teens at the library.
- LPL Art Studio: Shibori Scarf Dyeing @ Civic Center Library from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Discover the beauty of shibori , the ancient Japanese art of indigo dyeing, in this hands-on workshop. Learn simple folding and binding techniques to create stunning patterns as you design your own unique shibori-dyed scarf. All materials will be provided, and no experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and leave with a beautiful wearable work of art!

- Coffee Hour In The Community: Let’s Talk NE Livonia with Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski @ Anastasia & Katie’s Coffee Shop at 10am. This will be more of a listening session for residents to share things they like and concerns they have about NE Livonia.

- Greenmead Village Tour and Meet the Beekeepers. Self-paced tours are from 1-4 p.m. Begin at Delia’s Treasures Gift Shop (located by the stop sign) for your admission pass. Admission is $5/adults, $3/ages 5-17. Please be prepared to pay with cash or check only. meet Greenmead Beekeepers Randy and Luke! They will have observation hives for you to see the honeybees up close. Honey from the hives will also be available for purchase in our stores.

- Livonia-Westland Chamber hosts Quick.Coffee.Connections at Livonia Italian Bakery from 8am to 9:30am. Enjoy your coffee or morning drink of choice while networking with your fellow members. This event is a great, casual opportunity to meet new contacts and continue to build on others.
Thursday, August 14th
- Adventures in Fencing with Plymouth/Ann Arbor Fencing Academy @ Sandburg Library at 11am. Attendees will practice techniques with provided props. Regular equipment and gear will be for display purposes only. Ages 6+.
- Brewing and Distillation Open House @ Schoolcraft College from 6pm to 8pm. Come to our open house, tour our commercial brewery facilities and enjoy a pint of our student-brewed beer to learn more about our program.
- Greenmead New Volunteer Orientation from 6:30pm to 8pm. Learn about our many volunteer opportunities including guiding tours, assisting with special events, gardening, and more.

- Coffee Hour with Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski at 11am at Civic Center Library. Come for a city update and ask questions about what’s happening in Livonia.
- Foundations Class – Increase your Resilience, Connection and Hope @ Livonia-Westland Chamber from 12pm to 1:30pm. Join SPN Survivors as they discuss their six Building Blocks and share how they can help you increase your resilience, while building more connection and hope into your day-to-day life so you can thrive.

- All-Family Motor City AMC Meet and Car Show at Greenmead Historical Park from 9am to 3pm. This meet will include a car show, historic displays, raffle prizes, and more.
Monday, August 18th
- Lifestyle Strategies to Improve Health @ Civic Center Library from 6:30pm to 8pm. Join VegMichigan for an evening focused on preventive medicine with featured guest, Kelly Wilson, registered dietitian who will discuss the six pillars of lifestyle medicine to prevent, treat and reverse chronic illness. Free healthy food tasting from a local restaurant available for everyone after the program. Registration is required to determine an accurate food count.
Tuesday, August 19th
- Farm to Fork: Taste the Change @ Greenmead Historical Park at 2pm Registered dietitian and chef Mary Balog will break down multiple topics regarding food and food culture. These sessions are free, and you don’t need to attend all to attend one, but preregistration is required

Wednesday, August 20th
- Japanese Storytime with Momo Kajiwara @ Sandburg Library at 10:30am. Local music teacher Momo Kajiwara will lead us in song, movement, and storytelling in Japanese! Geared towards ages 2-6. Siblings welcome
- Birds of Prey @ Greenmead Historical Park at 6:30pm. Discover what makes hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls top predators in the Great Lakes region. Advance registration is required, $10/child resident, $12/non-resident. This program is best for ages 8-16.
Thursday, August 21st
- Car Maintenance 101 @ Sandburg Library at 6:30pm. Learn the fundamentals of vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting with Vince Fary. In this program, he will cover: routine safety checks, fluid checks, tire maintenance, including how to change a tire.
Friday, August 22nd
- $1 Senior Summer Ice Cream Social @ Senior Center from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Please join us in the dining room of the Civic Park Senior Center for a delicious ice cream sundae with all your favorite toppings. No registration necessary, just bring your friends and a dollar! This is for seniors 62 and older only, please no grandchildren.
- S’mores and Stories: Farming In Fall @ Greenmead Historical Park from 7pm to 8pm. Come around the campfire as we enjoy stories, crafts, games, and of course, s’mores! Advance registration is required for $5/child resident, $6/child non-resident.
Saturday, August 23rd
- Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event @ Westland Shopping Center from 8am to 1pm
- Touch-A-Truck at Greenmead Historical Park from 8:30am to 2pm. A large variety of vehicles including fire trucks, local police forces, tow trucks, military vehicles, historic vehicles, racecars, horses, helicopters, and a hot air balloon. Entry is free, but a $5 parking donation is requested.

Monday, August 25th
- Vampires in History: From Folklore to Fear @ Civic Center Library at 6pm. Join us on a journey through the ages as local author, Kristy Robinett discusses the history of vampires from ancient folklore to modern literature and film.
Wednesday, August 27th:
- Ozzy-Palooza at Schoolcraft College from 2pm to 6pm. Enjoy music, games, a bounce house, raffle prizes, food, tie-dying and more!
- Jewelry Making Workshop with Christine Steffen @ Civic Center Library from 2:30pm to 4pm. Learn some basic jewelry making techniques. Participants will leave with a Detroit Lions themed bracelet. Go Lions! Materials and supplies provided. Ages 18+. Limit 15. Registration required.
- Family Board Game @ Civic Center Library from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Come take advantage of the library’s amazing board game collection, learn a new game, and connect with your family and the community at our Family Board Game events. Staff will be on hand to explain the rules and guide the fun, and all games will be available for checkout after the event. Ages 8+.
Saturday, August 31st:
- Wayne County’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection at Westland Shopping Center from 8am to 1pm.
