  • Clements Circle Splash Park is open Monday-Friday (1pm to 7pm); Monday – Thursday (10am to 1pm – adult lap swim and lessons); Saturday & Sunday (12pm to 6pm)

  • Parent / Child Drawing Workshop @ Civic Center Library at 6pm. Join author and Illustrator Amy Nielander as she shows you and your child how to foster better communication through drawing. Registration is required. Please register you and your child in a single registration. Ages 5 – 12

  • Pour it Forward Celebration and Fundraiser! @ The Axe Parlor from 6pm to 8pm. Join Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop in celebrating the announcement of our second location and help raise funds to train new team members, equip the space, and open doors to inclusion. $50 includes: Two hours of axe throwing, dinner and cash bar and $30 includes: Admission (w/out axe throwing), dinner, and cash bar.
  • LPL Art Studio: Australian Textile Art @ Civic Center Library from 7pm to 8:30pm. Waiting list. Join us for a night of Australian dot painting, a unique form of textile art rooted in the rich cultural traditions of Aboriginal Australians. This hands-on program is led by Paula Verbanac—a former college professor and seasoned world traveler who lived and worked in the Australian Outback. Discover the symbolism and techniques behind this vibrant art form, and explore how storytelling and cultural heritage are woven into each design. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious, you’ll leave with a meaningful connection to this unique artistic tradition. All supplies will be provided—just bring your creativity!

  • Greenmead Village Tour and Meet the Beekeepers. Self-paced tours are from 1-4 p.m. Begin at Delia’s Treasures Gift Shop (located by the stop sign) for your admission pass. Admission is $5/adults, $3/ages 5-17. Please be prepared to pay with cash or check only. meet Greenmead Beekeepers Randy and Luke! They will have observation hives for you to see the honeybees up close. Honey from the hives will also be available for purchase in our stores.

  • Tie-Dye on the Lawn @ Sandburg Library from 10:30am to 12pm. Geared towards ages 8+. Caregivers must stay and assist children.  Please dress for mess (including your shoes!) and bring a pre-washed, 100% cotton item* to dye. The item will be ready to take home with you including care instructions.
  • Tiny Worlds Workshop: Enclosed Edition @ Greenmead Historical Park. Join us for a hands-on experience as you craft your own planted terrarium! Participants will enjoy a step-by-step session with all materials provided as they engage their creative spirit to craft their own enclosed jar terrarium! Advance registration is required for $22/resident, $27/non-resident. This program is best for ages 16 and older

  • Cameron Zvara: Comedy Magician & Entertainer @ Civic Center Library at 11am & 6pm. Using a combination of mind blowing magic, hilarious comedy, juggling, music, and audience participation, Cameron’s show is perfect for all ages to enjoy!

Tuesday, July 22nd

  • Minimalistic Beaded Earrings @ Civic Center Library at 6pm. Make a pair of fun beaded earrings using simple jewelry tools, techniques and materials. A selection of beads in all sizes, shapes, and colors will be available for you to choose from.  Instructions, assistance and all materials provided. This class is perfect for both beginners and advanced crafters.  Registration required.  Limited to 15 Livonia Public Library cardholders, aged 18+.
  • Michigan Birds of Prey @ Sandburg Library at 6pm. The Michigan Avian Experience returns with their popular Birds of Prey program. Learn about survival at its finest as these birds reveal their remarkable adaptations and behaviors. Attendees will have the opportunity to feel feathers and feet. This program will take place outdoors. No registration necessary

Wednesday, July 23rd

  • Blood On The Clocktower @ Civic Center Library at 6:30pm. eens and Adults. Join us for a spine-tingling game of Blood on the Clocktower. Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception. A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it.

  • The BIG Picnic @ Greenmead Historical Park from 1pm to 3pm.  Live music in the Newburg Church and gazebo, storytime in the Newburg School, yard games, live animals, face painting, tours of the historic buildings, and more all for FREE!
  • Craft Supply Swap at Civic Center Library from 1:30pm to 3pm. Drop off your new or gently used, clean craft supplies to Bennett Civic Center Library, July 21-25.  Examples of items we will accept: yarn and fabric, macrame cord, embroidery floss, knitting needles, crochet hooks, needlework and sewing notions, patterns, buttons, ribbons, pom poms, pipecleaners, craft kits, scrapbooking supplies, jewelry supplies, beads, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, and canvases.  Those who donate supplies will get a ticket to “shop the swap” 30 minutes early.  No supplies to donate?  No problem!  Stop in any time between 1:30 and 3:00 to pick up materials.

Monday, July 28th:

  • Outdoor Bubble Science @ Civic Center Library at 11am. We’ll explore bubbles of all sizes: touchable microbubbles, learn about color theory and bubble geometry, and the chance to be put inside a bubble! After the show, the bubble floor will be open to explore. Participate in two guided experiments and then explore on your own. This event will take place outside.
