June 16 Regular and Study City Council Meeting

Here is a summary of the June 16, 2025 Regular + Study Meeting of Livonia City Council.

The matter of obtaining a report and recommendation from law in regards to restricting group homes in residential neighborhoods was approved.

The following items were approved:

Meeting Minutes & Consent Agenda

Appointment of Lindsey Hakala to Zoning Board of Appeals

Ordinance changes related to the water and sewage rate

Tax assessment for owners who have not paid charges related to the 2024 sidewalk program

Release bonds related to the expansion of Newburgh Village II

Designation of Rotary AM Foundation as a non-profit to obtain a gambling license

Purchase payment agreement with CP Pay Merchants to allow for credit/debit and ACH transactions

Additional expenditure request related to Country Homes Park sidewalk installation

The following items were put on the consent agenda:

Appointing Mark Orosz to Plymouth Road Development Authority

Site plan by Commerica Bank to reconstruct building and parking lot at 17111 Laurel Park Drive North

Various purchase agreements

Approvement for conservation easement along Bell Creek with EGLE

Replacement of our credit card program and transition to a procurement card program

Amending the malicious use of a telephone ordinance

Creation of misdemeanor for possessing vape product on school grounds

Addition of a local ordinance prohibiting a person from interfering with another during an emergency call

The matter of obtaining a report and recommendation from law in regards to restricting the number of racing pigeons in residential neighborhoods.

The following items were put on the next regular agenda

Waver use approval for Costco (19540 Haggerty Road) to expand the existing fuling station

Site approval to construct a second story at 29440 Schoolcraft Road

A notice of intent to issue $5,000,000 to improve Sheldon Park

Restricting the number of racing pigeons in per residential parcel to 20.
