May 19th – Regular and Study Meeting

Here is a summary of the May 19, 2025 Committee of the Whole, Regular + Study Meeting of Livonia City Council.

As a reminder, the Livonia Police Department will be hosting a memorial service at 7:30 PM this Thursday at the Nehasil Park to remember Livonia’s police officers fallen in the line of duty.

The following items were approved:

  • Meeting Minutes & Consent Agenda minus item 3 (amendment to the code of ordinances to revise voting precincts) – which was moved to the regular.
  • Request to the administration for a report to increase blight fees to the maximum allowable amount and add compounding interest
  • Approval of a new oil change facility at 27410 Joy Road
  • Approval of early voting plan for 2025 elections, which will take place the Saturday and Sunday before the election at City Hall

  • Waver petition to operate a daytime truck and trailer storage facility at 32225 Schoolcraft Road
  • Approval of site plan to operate a BMW motorcycle dealership at 19265 Victor Parkway
  • Approval of the Community Block Development Grant 2025 Action Plan
  • Approval of an intergovernmental agreement between Wayne County and Livonia for a grant to redevelop Sheldon Park
  • Approval of an intergovernmental agreement between Wayne County and Livonia for a grant to replace a fitness cluster at Rotary Park
  • Approval for a sublease agreement between Livonia and MiWorkMatters to operate a coffee shop at the new senior center
  • Approval of the Holiday Parade Route for the annual holiday parade to be held on December 7

  • Approving a site plan for Johnny’s Car Wash located at 30207 Plymouth Road
  • Pre Construction Services for the new police station facility
  • First Read to amend Livonia’s water and sewage rates
