Points of Pride – Robotics Program: Members of the Robotics Team gave a presentation about activities and successes across the District.

Ceremonial Oaths of Office of Board Members Elect: Dave McFarland, Karen Bradford, Crystal Frank, and Madeline Acosta took the Oath of Office.

Election of Officers: The Board nominated and voted to approve Karen Bradford as President, Crystal Frank as Vice President, Madeline Acosta as Secretary, and Alison Smith (Director of Finance) as Treasurer.

School Board Recognition Month: Stacy Jenkins (Administrator for District Communications) presented Board Members with a Certificate of Appreciation.

District Update from the Superintendent: Superintendent Oquist appealed highlights from across the District.

Audience Communications: Former State Rep, John Stewart, spoke about the book – The History of Livonia Public School written by Martha Trafford, and suggested that a 2nd book be written to cover the history since 2002.

The Board Approved the following items:

  • -Sale of Bonds (3rd series of the voter approved 2021 Bond)
  • A/C Installation at the High School Auto and Wood Shops (Sinking Fund)
  • Replacement of the Stadium Lighting at the High Schools (Capital Project Fund)
  • Change Order for the previously approved High School Batting Cages
  • Expulsion of a Secondary Student
  • Personnel Matters – Teachers for approval, tenure, resignations, and retirements
  • First Reading of the proposed changes to Board Policy:
    • 1Board Policy IB – Goals and Objectives
    • Board Policy IC – Curriculum Development
    • Board Policy IG – Counseling and Student Assistance
