Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting – December 4th, 2024

Vote.Run.Serve-Livonia tries to cover meetings of interest, in December the Parks & Recreation Commission held its regular meeting with a discussion on planned improvements for Shelden Park. Below is an overview of the meeting.

Shelden Park conceptual plans include:

  • Alfred Noble site will not be affected 
  • New Accessible playground
  • New Pavilion 
  • The pool will be taken out and replaced with a splash pad
  • Eight pickle ball courts 
  • Four Tennis Courts 
  • After this there will be a total of 20 Pickleball courts in Livonia
  • Biking and walking path 
  • Two baseball Diamonds- Larger and Smaller one 
  • Flexible Lawn/ Sports field Area 
  • This will be the premier park in Livonia 
  • The Sheldon Park Master Plan was approved 

Other items of note: This project will be taken in stages, the park size will remain the same and the Parking lot will still be the same size.
