Vote.Run.Serve-Livonia tries to cover meetings of interest, in December the Parks & Recreation Commission held its regular meeting with a discussion on planned improvements for Shelden Park. Below is an overview of the meeting.
Shelden Park conceptual plans include:
- Alfred Noble site will not be affected
- New Accessible playground
- New Pavilion
- The pool will be taken out and replaced with a splash pad
- Eight pickle ball courts
- Four Tennis Courts
- After this there will be a total of 20 Pickleball courts in Livonia
- Biking and walking path
- Two baseball Diamonds- Larger and Smaller one
- Flexible Lawn/ Sports field Area
- This will be the premier park in Livonia
- The Sheldon Park Master Plan was approved
Other items of note: This project will be taken in stages, the park size will remain the same and the Parking lot will still be the same size.
