December 2 – Regular and Study Meeting

Here is a summary of the December 2nd, 2024 Regular + Study Meeting of Livonia City Council.

Following his election win as 16th District Court Judge, Jim Jolly resigned from City Council and his final meeting as a Councilmember was the regular. Reminder that a Committee of the Whole meeting will be held on December 16th at 7pm and anyone interested in being considered to fill the vacancy will be given 3 minutes to speak, interested individuals can also email City Council at citycouncil@livonia.gov

The following items were approved:

▪️Livonia Hockey Association request to be recognized as a non-profit to obtain a charitable gaming license

▪️Additional expenditures for the concrete roads program ▪️Proclamation to honor the retirement of Judge Kathleen McCan

Items put on the consent agenda:

▪️Request to waive sidewalk requirement at 37601 Amrhein ▪️Request to approve Shoppes at College Park development plan (6 and Haggerty)

▪️Waiver request to operate a truck rental facility at 37055 Industrial Rd

▪️Waiver to construct outdoor patio dining area at Mr. Miguel’s 39305 Plymouth Rd

▪️Class C Liquor License request by Cooper’s Hawk Winery

▪️Bid for printing of Connections Magazine Purchase request from IT for Network Switches

▪️Purchase requests from DPW for 5 zero turn mowers and a forklift

▪️Amended contract with D’Angelo Brothers for increased work related to the lead replacement program (learn more at https://checkyourpipeslivonia.org)

▪️Additional expenditure related to emergency road repair

▪️Accept settlement from Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) related to water main break

▪️Amend language of a previously approved purchase request.

▪️Plans to reconfigure Zax Auto Wash at 36001 Plymouth Rd (between Levan and Yale)

▪️Request to approve hourly rate increase for library pages
