Here is a summary of the November 6th, 2024 Regular + Study Meeting of Livonia City Council.

🗳 Lori Miller shared that there were approximately 9,804 early voters and of the 31,000 absentee ballots sent out, 97% were returned. See results from the November 5th election here: https://livonia.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=416

The following items were approved:

▪️ Minutes & Consent Agenda

▪️ Custodial contact for the Recreation Center

▪️ Waive Sidewalk requirement for newly constructed homes 20533-20599 Angling

▪️ Waiver petition to construct a Learning Tree at Newburgh and 7 Mile

▪️ Approval of Class C liquor license to Papa Romanos at Levan and Plymouth

▪️ Schedule a closed committee of the whole meeting to discuss the Fire Department union contract

▪️ Contract for sidewalk program along Newburgh Rd between Pembroke and Joshua Simmons Drive

▪️ Contract for electrical services

A vote was taken for an ordinance change that will allow the administration to make purchase agreements up to $100k without Council approval for projects related to the Civic Center campus until December 31, 2027. It passed 5 to 2

▪️ Recognition of Zeal Credit Union Foundation as a non-profit organization to allow for an in-house raffle

▪️ Contract for Emergency Medical Transportation Billing

▪️ Accept grant from the Department of Justice to purchase law enforcement equipment

▪️ Tree removal at Silver Village

▪️ Air Chiller replacement at Livonia Police Department

▪️ Add streetlights from newly built neighborhoods into the local street system

▪️ Agreement between MDOT and Livonia for bridge replacement and road construction at Ann Arbor Rd between Newburgh and Market St.

▪️ Funds for streetlights 2025 Road Repair program schedule and agreement with companies to complete the project
