On December 16th, City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole and allow each resident interested in being considered for the position set to be vacated by Jim Jolly (who was elected 16th district court judge) 3 minutes to speak. Individuals can also submit their interest to CityCouncil@livonia.gov
Following a public comment, the matter of HB 6088 – a bill related to communities’ ability to opt out of regional transit – was referred to the Law & Education Committee
Reports from the Clerk’s office was accepted for items related to tax rates for the coming year (Detroit Zoo, DIA, Huron-Clinton Metroparks, Livonia Public Schools, Wayne RESA, the City of Livonia and Wayne County)

Ordinance to create a new Capital Improvement position
Proclamation for Family Court Awareness Month
Renewal of City’s liability and property insurance with Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA)
Contract for City’s Worker’s Compensation Insurance coverage
Budget adjustments in response to unexpended funds
Settlement for claim related to sewer backup
Wal-Mart’s request to add a 1,272sq ft grocery pick-up area at the Middlebelt and Plymouth location was approved. Wal-Mart will also be adding cart locks to its carts early in 2025
