- Livonia Public Library’s One City, One Book – Multiple Events
- The Library is hosting a series of public events that are open to all ages around the selected book Of Time and Turtles by Sy Montgomery. The series kicks-off with the The Rouge: A Complex History on Monday, Sept. 9th at 7pm at Bennett Civic Center Library
- Open to all ages and FREE from 6:30pm to 9pm
- Open Mic Night @ Trinity House Theatre – Tuesday, Sept. 3rd & 17th
- Take a chance to share your music live on the Trinity House Theatre stage. Local songwriter, Bob Knox, will serve as the host of the evening. Tickets are only $5 and you can enjoy free beverages and snacks.
- Game Night at Wilson’s Barn – Thursday, Sept. 5th & 19th
- Open to all ages and FREE from 6:30pm to 9pm
- Comedy Night @ SuperNatural Brewing & Spirits – Thursday, Sept. 5th & 19th
- Stand-up comedy show at 7pm to 9pm, tickets are $10
- One-On-One Senior Tech Support – Thursday, Sept. 5th
- Livonia Library’s Teen Volunteer Council offers free one-on-one Senior Tech Support event. The drop-in event is open to seniors looking for help with cellphones, tablets and laptops on at the Bennett Senior Center Library from 6pm to 7pm.
- Tour de Livonia – Sunday, Sept. 8th
- Get ready for the inaugural Tour de Livonia Sunday, Sept. 8th, at Bicentennial Park. Cycling enthusiasts can choose from the 20-mile course (ages 16+) at 9 a.m. or the 7-mile course (all ages) at 9:30 a.m. as they cycle through parks, neighborhoods and past notable Livonia landmarks. Helmets are required for all participants.
- Annual Livonia Corn Roast – Sunday, Sept. 8th
- The FREE good old-fashioned neighborhood Corn Roast returns 11:30a-3pm at Bicentennial Park following the Tour de Livonia. Join friends and family for food, fun, entertainment and check out the dozens of Livonia community groups on site.
- Greenmead Fall Flea Market – Sunday, Sept. 8th
- Bring your wagon or cart to shop from more than 163 vendors offering a wide variety of items for sale. No dogs permitted at the event. $3 adult admission paid at the gate; free for ages 12 and younger.
- Fire Safety Talk For Senior – Tuesday, Sept. 10th
- Learn how to keep yourself and your home safe in case of an emergency. Join Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski and special guests from the Livonia Fire Department and Community Risk Reduction Chief, Kymberly Pashkowsky, from the Bureau of Fire Services for a talk on fire safety for seniors at Livonia Senior Center from 9am to 11am. Light refreshments will be provided.
- The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) – Tuesday, Sept. 10th
- Livonia offers USDA foods at no cost to low-income residents on the third Tuesday of every month from 12 -2 p.m. No sign-up is required. Livonia Housing Commission: 10800 Farmington Road
- DTE Livonia Open House – Thursday, Sept. 12th
- Join us anytime between 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Riley Upper Elementary School to learn more about DTE’s reliability improvements and investments in Livonia, including tree trimming, grid upgrades, and other energy programs Light refreshments will be served
- Earth Explorers – Thursday, Sept. 12th
- Families can learn about our world and environment at Greenmead Historical Park, participants will get to learn in hands-on, engaging, STEAM-oriented activities. Event is for ages 8 to 12 and costs $5
- Movie Night: WISH @ Unity of Livonia – Friday, Sept. 13th at 6pm
- FREE Women’s Self-Defense Seminar – Friday, Sept. 13th
- Andrea Moon, a 3rd Degree Black Belt from Shotokan Karate, return to teach women how to fight back and avoid dangerous situations. Wear loose fitting clothes, no jewelry and tie back your hair please. Event at Bennett Civic Center Library from 6pm to 7:30pm.
- Dave Sharp Worlds Quartet @ Trinity House Theatre – Friday, Sept. 13th
- Featuring oud, violin, electric bass, synthesizer and world percussion, the WORLDS QUARTET is fueled by the spirit of jazz, world music and dynamic exploratory improvisation. 8pm performance, tickets $20
- Just Between Friends Consignment Sale – September 13th – 15th
- Just Between Friends’ Livonia/Novi’s Best Pop-up Children’s Resale is September 13th to 15th at the Livonia Athletic District.
- Livonia’s Paper Shredding and Tire Recycling Day – Saturday, Sept. 14th
- Enter the event through the employee parking lot at the DPW Headquarters and proceed west to the trucks Residents can dispose of up to 10 tires and five recycling bin boxes of documents. The event is from 8am to 1pm and free for Livonia residents only

- Coffee Hour with Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski: Let’s Talk Wayne County – Saturday, Sept. 14th
- Come, ask questions and learn about what’s happening with City Council. In addition to a regular city update, I will host guests during monthly coffee hours to inform residents on issues of interest and help connect them with useful resources. County Commissioner Terry Marecki will join to give an update on Wayne County. Coffee Hours are open to the public – kids are welcome. There will be light refreshments, and we are meeting in the Livonia Civic Center Library at 11am.

- Take a tour of the Greenmead Historic Village buildings in self-paced tours are from 1pm to 4pm. Begin at Delia’s Treasures Gift Shop (located by the stop sign) for your admission pass. Admission is by donation this year. Docents will be in each building to share information and answer questions.
- Livonia Cider Mill – Sunday, Sept. 15th
- Life Church Livonia is bringing Petey’s Donuts to town. There will also be food, games, bounce houses, music and more, starting at 12pm.
- Bentley High School Historical Marker Designation- Sunday, Sept. 15th
- On Sept. 15, at 2pm, Bentley High School will receive a Historical Marker after years of effort by Bentley High School graduates and the Livonia Historical Society! We invite you to join us at the Kirksey Recreation Center for this momentous occasion.
- Livonia Youth Choir Fall Auditions – Monday, Sept. 16th
- Interested in joining the Livonia Youth Choir? Auditions open to children in grades 2 through 8. There’s no need to prepare anything – auditions are simply to understand your child’s vocal skills so they can be placed in the right choir.
- Ice Cream Social @ Livonia Senior Center – Wednesday, Sept. 18th
- Cost is only $1.00 for a delicious ice cream sundae with all your favorite toppings! No registration necessary. 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the dining room at Senior Center.
- S‘mores and Stories: Farming In Fall @ Greenmead – Friday, Sept. 20th
- Get a feel for the camping life 6-7 p.m. We will enjoy roasting s’mores, telling stories and enjoying a variety of activities around the campfire. This program is best for children ages 5-12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult (parents do not need to register). Advance registration required for $5/child resident, with further prices varying by residency
- Songwriters Anonymous @ Trinity House Theatre – Friday, Sept. 20th
- Songwriters Anonymous is an active community of songwriters who meet monthly in SE Michigan and who share their mutual interests through the development of musical skills and industry knowledge. Each year they host a showcase of some of their songwriters to benefit Trinity House Theatre and spotlight their creative work. 8pm performance, tickets $20
- Dining with Yesterday: ‘Studebaker, Packard, Nash and Hudson’ – Saturday, Sept. 21st
- Come join us 11am to 1pm. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Alexander Blue House, where we will learn how the Studebaker Brothers, Packard Brothers, Charlie Nash, and Joseph L. Hudson grew their companies and what lead to their ultimate disappearance from the industry. Lunch and dessert inspired by the automotive industry is included with this program. Advance registration is required for $35/resident, $40/non-resident.

- Vintage & Handmade Fall Market is back on September 21st from 10a-4p outside Laurel Park Mall (37700 Six Mile). Come out to shop from over 100 of our boutique, makers, artisan and food truck friends! Outdoor market, rain or shine. $5 entry. under 12 free. Free parking.
- Luke Bulla with Jill Jack @ Trinity House Theatre – Saturday, Sept. 21st
- In addition to violin, Luke plays guitar and mandolin and sings and writes songs. 8pm performance, tickets $20
- Empty Chair Night @ Trinity House Theatre – Sunday, Sept. 22nd
- Empty Chair Night returns for the fall of 2024 with a show featuring Linden Thoburn, Judy Insley and Sharon Tse. 7pm performance, tickets $12
- Greenmead’s History Lecture Series: The Witch of Delray – Tuesday, September 24th
- Join us 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 for a foray into history! In 1931, political scandals, rumrunners and mobs lurked in the shadows of the Detroit. As the Great Depression began to take hold, tensions grew, spilling over into the investigation of a mysterious murder. Amid accusations of witchcraft, Rose and her son Bill were convicted of the brutal killing. Their cries of innocence went unheeded until one lawyer, determined to seek justice, took on the case. Join us as we welcome Karen Dybis for this free program at the Alexander Blue House. No registration required.

- On Sept 24th from 12-5pm St. Baldrick’s will take over One Under for the 4th year in a row.
- Cheese 101 @ Greenmead – Thursday, September 26th
- Join our cheese class and embark on a mouthwatering journey through the world of cheese! Delight your senses with samples, expand your cheese knowledge, and become an aficionado in one evening! This event is at the Alexander Blue House at 7pm and advance registration is required (cost is $25/resident)
- The American Civil War Experience – Saturday, September 28th
- Join the 17th Michigan Volunteer Regiment Company E for The American Civil War Experience on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free-living history event.
- Sinatra Night – Friday, Sept. 27th
- Get ready for an unforgettable evening of music and dancing on Friday, September 27th! The cafeteria doors will swing open at 6:30 p.m. for an electrifying happy hour, followed by a sensational show starting at 7:30 p.m. Score your early bird tickets now for just $20 per person until September 21st. After that, tickets will be $25 at the door. This event has open seating and a cash bar. Feel free to bring your own appetizers, snacks, or even dinner to indulge in at your table.
