- Flora and Fluttering Fauna Walk at Greenmead Historical Park from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 for residents. Join us for a captivating nature walk with the Detroit Bird Alliance where you’ll explore and learn about the diverse birds, bugs and plants that make up the world around us
August 9th – 11th:
- St. Rafka Church Annual Summer Festival. Giant inflatables, carnival games, face painting, henna tattoos and live music.
Saturday, August 10th:
- Opening of The Book Nook Little Free Library at 14956 Auburndale, Livonia from 10am to 11:30am. There will be Light refreshments, giveaways & bookmark making.
- Kids Art from the Heart is an event hosted by the Livonia Arts Commission and geared towards children ages 2-12 at the Kirksey Recreation Center from 11am to 3pm. There will be multiple crafts, a bounce house, live entertainment and more!
- Time Management for Teens at Civic Center Library from 3pm to 4:30pm. Just in time for back-to-school, learn strategies for successful time management.
- Paws, Pours & More: A Benefit for Last Day Dog Rescue at Wilson Barn from 4pm to 8pm. Pre-sale tickets are $30
- 1920s Garden Party @ Greenmead Historical Park from 2pm to 4pm. Take a stroll through the gardens, learn some new dance moves, play card and yard games, and visit our secret speakeasy for some prohibition-themed mocktails! 1920s-era apparel is encouraged, but not required. Advance registration is required, $20 for resident
- Turn Turn Turn, featuring Adam Levy of Honeydogs at Trinity House Theatre at 8pm. Tickets are $20.
Sunday, August 11th:
- Village Tour at Greenmead from 1pm to 4pm. Admission is by donation this year.
Wednesday, August 14th:
- Hands On History at Greenmead Historical Park from 9:30am to 2pm. Children ages 9-12 can join us for a hands-on, two-day 19th-century experience at Greenmead Historical Park. During this program, they will participate in various historically-based activities, including militia drills, cooking, games, and more! Advance registration is required for $50 per participant.
- Coffee, Cocoa and Coloring at Civic Center Library from 6:30pm to 8pm. All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own!
Thursday, August 15th:
- Livonia Public Schools’ Bounce Back To School at Riley Upper Elementary School from 5pm to 8pm
Saturday, August 17th:
- Coffee Hour with Councilwoman Budzinski: Let’s Talk Art @ Livonia Civic Center Library at 11am
- Blue Line Farms Farm Visits at 10am, 11am and 12pm. $5 per person.
Sunday, August 18th:
- All-Family Motor City AMC Meet and Car Show at Greenmead Historical Park from 9am to 3pm. This meet will include a car show, historic displays, raffle prizes, and more.
- Cardboard Boat Race @ Botsford Pool from 4pm to 6pm. . Registration is $20 per boat, and you must register online by Aug. 7. You will construct your vehicle at home and bring your vessel to Botsford Pool on race day.
- Goat Yoga at Blue Line Farm at 11am. $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
Friday. August 23rd:
- S’mores and Stories at Greenmead Historical Park at 7pm. Enjoy roasting s’mores, telling stories and enjoying a variety of activities around the campfire. This program is best for children ages 5-12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult (parents do not need to register). Advance registration required for $5 per child.
- Goat Yoga at Blue Line Farm at 11am. $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
Saturday, August 24th:
- Touch-A-Truck at Greenmead Historical Park from 8:30am to 2pm. A large variety of vehicles including fire trucks, local police forces, tow trucks, military vehicles, historic vehicles, racecars, horses, helicopters, and a hot air balloon. Entry is free, but we do accept family donations, which are all donated back to local organizations.
Wednesday, August 28th:
- Ozzy-Palooza at Schoolcraft College from 3pm to 7pm. Enjoy music, games, a bounce house, food, tie-dying and more!
Saturday, August 31st:
- Wayne County’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection at Westland Shopping Center from 8am to 1pm.
