June 24, 2024 – Committee of the Whole: Livonia Senior Center

On Monday, June 24th, City Council held a Committee of the Whole to go over the proposed guaranteed maximum price from PCI Dailey for the Livonia Senior Center project. The proposal will move forward and be on a future Council agenda.

The guaranteed maximum price agreement sets the ceiling for the Senior Center project. If/when cost savings from these projected expenditures are found, the city receives 100% of the savings returned.

Below is the summary of cost, find all documents here

Funding for the new Senior Center/Recreation Center updates come from the following sources:

  • $4M set aside from the City’s American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds
  • $4.25M from federal government (obtained by Congresswomen Haley Stevens and Rashida Tlaib)
  • $4.5M from the state government (obtained by State Senators Dayna Polehanki & Mary Cavanagh, and State Representatives Laurie Pohutsky, Matt Koleszar, and Stephanie Young)
  • $8M from Wayne County (obtained by County Commissioners Terry Marecki and Glenn Anderson)
