Council recognized the Livonia Symphony Orchestra on the eve of its 50th anniversary.

The following was passed unanimously:

  • Minutes and consent agenda
  • Waiving the city’s noise ordinance on August 17 for The Basilica of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church
  • Approval of the 2024 Asphalt Road contract with Nagel Paving
  • Acceptance of Quit Claim Deed on various properties along Angling Road
  • Approval of MMRMA settlement in conjunction with Sewer Backflow Event on Fairway Street
  • Designating the Akanebashi Foundation as a non-profit

The following was denied by a 4-2 vote: Waiving the sidewalk requirement for four homes constructed at along Fairlane Avenue

The status of the sewers on Fairway street was unanimously approved to be sent to the Capital Outlay and Infrastructure committee.

Items put on the consent agenda:

  • Request to waive the city’s noise ordinance for a private gathering
  • Various purchase requests, including for chimney repairs for the Alexander Blue House
  • Reappointment of David Cash and Martha Foley to local officers compensation commission
  • Waiver petition for various developments on Haggerty and Six Mile. (Note that upon council approval, the site plan goes back to Planning Commission for revisions requested by the city).

Request to approve proposed lot split at 19200 Merriman Ct was put on the regular agenda.
