Vote.Run.Serve does not normally cover Planning Commission Meetings, however we have seen strong public interest in the Sri Shirdi Saibaba Temple petition to redevelop the Hindu temple on 7 Mile Road and decided to summarize the Planning Commission’s Study Meeting held on Feb 13, 2024. As a reminder, the Planning Commission only provides recommendations to city council and does not have the ability to outright approve petitions.

Sri Shirdi Saibaba Temple is seeking to re construct their temple, constructing a larger building and outdoor amenities to accommodate their growing congregation. The project is expected to be a 7 million dollar investment. The Planning Commission recommended approval, with the stipulation that the current temple is demolished within 2 years once the certificate of occupancy is issued for the new temple.

Tieso Architects is seeking to construct a special trades construction yard that includes outdoor storage of landscaping equipment and materials to 12933 Farmington. The petition was recommended for approval.
