Following a public comment query regarding the need for postage on absentee ballots, City Clerk Susan Nash verified that postage is not necessary because the state paid for postage. Find information about the newly installed ballot boxes here: https://livonia.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=332

A brief summary of the September 20th Finance and Budget Committee. The issue brought up at that meeting by members of the Livonia Public School Board regarding the tax administration fee was sent to committee. The following items were approved:

  • Consent agenda
  • Request for a Commercial Rehabilitation exemption certificate by Ducati for development along Victor Parkway
  • Request by The Axe Parlor for a Tasting Room permit/Class C liquor license and distance waiver.
  • Approved drive-thru coffee shop (Scooter’s Coffee) and converting an existing building on the property into an ice cream shop (Lickity Split)

The proposed redevelopment of the vacant 8 story building on Middlebelt north of 7 Mile to be used for a storage facility was sent to Committee of the Whole.

The request by Basilica of St. Mary to rezone part of its property from P-L (Public Lands) to N2 (Neighborhood) with the intent to develop it into a Montessori School/Community Center was sent to the Committee of the Whole.

A development request for a Clean express Auto Wash at 34835 Plymouth Rd (former Burger King) was tabled until a back taxes issue is resolved

The Engineering Department requested Council certify the 2023 Transportation Asset Management Plan. This is a state requirement and approved.
