Livonia Senior Center Update

The Michigan state legislature approved the 2023 budget, allocating another 4.5 million to the Livonia project first proposed in 2021. The allocation, effective immediately, is added to the city’s 11 million in funding already designated for the project.

The total cost of the project expected to be 21.5 million. The city is lobbying to capture the remaining 6 million dollars from Wayne County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) project funding program. The county has released two batches of funding under the ARPA project program, which Vote.Run.Serve has previously covered.

The county has not detailed additional projects since January of this year, and there is currently no timetable detailing when the remaining batches will be announced.

Livonia is represented by two Wayne County Commissioners – Glenn Anderson and Terry Marecki.
